Indian Army May Get Rugged Land Rover Defender SUVs for Tough Terrains
Land Rover Defender: Tata Advanced Systems is preparing to provide the Land Rover Defender to the Indian Army. The company is presenting this SUV as an option for the army.

The Land Rover Defender may soon become a part of the Indian Army's future plans. Defender, a specialized vehicle by TASL from the Tata Group, is being positioned as an all-purpose vehicle suitable for military applications. This follows the need by the Indian Army to update its current fleet of light vehicles with more powerful and modern vehicles.
The Indian Army requires more powerful vehicles to replace its aging fleet of light vehicles. The Defender will be ideal for many units because of its robustness and roadworthiness. Many armies have used customized Defenders for troop movement and logistical support.
It has a flexible design that accommodates communication systems, light arms, surveillance systems, and armored components.
