Google Cloud: Google Cloud's technical problem affected services like Spotify, Snapchat, Gmail, and YouTube across the world. The problem came in the 'Identity and Access Management' service. Google has identified the root of the problem and accelerated the improvement. According to the latest update, services have been restored in many places except one area of the US.
Millions of users worldwide experienced difficulties as there was a severe technical glitch in Google Cloud on Thursday. Some of the major services to be impacted by this glitch included Spotify, Discord, Snapchat, Twitch, Shopify and artificial intelligence firm Anthropic. Apart from this, Google's own services like Gmail, Google Meet, YouTube and Google Search also came to a standstill for some time.
In the case, it was reported on the status website of Google Cloud that it was due to a glitch in the Identity and Access Management Service that this issue arose. The company reported that its engineers are actively working on fixing it and services have already been restored in certain areas, though some of its effects are still present in many areas.
Following reports of hundreds of grievances received, Google in its recent update indicated that its team has located the source of the problem and initiated the process of rectification. Google indicated that services in all places but the 'US-Central1' region of America are largely restored now. But users are currently experiencing trouble in various services.
