Manipal University Jaipur Conducts Legal Awareness Camp on Consumer Rights

The camp was free and open to the public, and everyone was encouraged to attend and learn about consumer rights.

The goal of the Legal Awareness Camp on Consumer Rights was to raise awareness of consumer rights among villagers and underprivileged groups. This awareness helps people make informed choices and protect themselves from unfair practices in the market.

The camps were organized over three days and covered a range of topics, including who qualifies as a consumer, what their rights are, and the importance of keeping receipts. The camps also discussed new dimensions of consumer rights in the online shopping scenario, the process for online complaints regarding consumer claims, and the availability of free legal services.

In addition, villagers raised pertinent questions related to land matters, domestic violence, and water supply. The camp brought the ground reality of these issues to the attention of the authorities.

The Pro Bono Club intends to organize more such events in the future to help the disadvantaged.
