Lawyers' security bill will come on 15th, decision on work boycott today

An agreement has been reached between the state government and the lawyers regarding the Advocates Protection Bill. Now the government will present this bill in the assembly on March 15. Due to the schedule of BAC till March 20, the bill will be passed after the approval of the committee on March 21.
This decision was taken in the meeting of Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Dhariwal along with 6 ministers and office bearers of Bar Associations at the Secretariat on Thursday. Cabinet ministers Mahesh Joshi, and Pratapsinh Khachariawas were present in the meeting, while Dhariwal, Lalchand Kataria, Ramlal Jat and Minister of State (Independent Charge) Subhash Garg joined through VC. Kamal Kishore Sharma, the chief convenor of the Sangharsh Samiti said that he will put this decision in the meeting of the Sangharsh Samiti on Friday. After this, a decision will be taken to suspend or withdraw the judicial work boycott.
Dhariwal said- The intention of the government to implement the Advocates Protection Act was earlier also and is still there. The government had sought suggestions by sending the bill to BCR in 2021. Bar representatives said – the bill has already been returned to the government after considering it. In such a situation, the government should pass the existing Advocates Protection Bill only.
The then BCR chairman Chiranjilal Saini had sent a letter to the state government on January 22, 2020, asking for the implementation of the Advocates Protection Act. The government also wanted to implement the Act in 2021. The lawyers are on judicial work boycott since February 20.
Principal Law Secretary Gyan Prakash Gupta, Law Secretary Anupama Bijlani and AG's representative AAG Dr. Vibhuti Bhushan Sharma were also present in the meeting. On behalf of the lawyers, The Bar Association Jaipur President Kamal Kishore Sharma, General Secretary Manoj Kumar Sharma, Advocate Bar Association Jodhpur President Ranjit Joshi, Lawyers Bar Association Jodhpur President Ravi Bhansali, High Court Bar Association Jaipur General Secretary Balram Vashisht and The District Bar Association Jaipur President Vivek Sharma and General Secretary Gajraj Singh Rajawat participated.
Taking suo moto cognizance of the boycott of judicial work, the High Court issued notice to the High Court Bar Association, Jodhpur and Jaipur and other Bar Associations on Thursday. Acting CJ MM Srivastava and Justice Vijay Bishnoi have sought answers by March 21.
