IPL 2025 Retention: Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill has decided to accept a cut in his salary. He has taken this decision so that some important players can be retained.
Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill will accept a cut in salary. Shubman Gill will be the second player to be retained by this IPL franchise before the 31st October deadline date. For doing this, there is going to be a direct loss of Rs 4 crore to Shubman Gill. Gill led the Gujarat Titans team for the first time in 2024. Now both he and the team management are keen to retain the important players of the team.
While Rashid Khan will be the star spinner among the first ones to be retained for the Gujarat Titans franchise, the other three will come in the form of Shubman Gill, Sai Sudarshan, and two uncapped players in Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan.
According to media reports, Shubman Gill has decided to accept a pay cut so that the team's key players can remain intact and a strong team can be formed. The team pays Rs 18 crore for retaining the first player and Rs 14 crore for retaining its second player. Gill has accepted a pay cut for the betterment of the team.
