iPhone 16 Ban will be removed soon in this country, dispute going on for five months

The iPhone 16 lifting process, which is currently ongoing in Indonesia for a period of five months, started. The Indonesian Ministry of Industry took a decision about providing a necessary license to Apple, which can be made official soon. The step is taken in light of a promise made by Apple that it will be investing $ 1 billion in Indonesia. The step includes opening a plant on Batam Island for manufacturing AirTags as well as research and development training in local regions. But until recently, Apple did not announce any plans regarding iPhone manufacturing in Indonesia.

Indonesia prohibited sales of iPhone 16 last year as Apple failed to comply with local manufacturing requirements in the nation. The Indonesian regulations stipulate that a smartphone available in the local market will have at least 40% locally made parts.

Apple has so far invested 1.48 trillion Indonesian rupiah, while the government required 1.71 trillion rupiah. Due to this shortfall of 230 billion rupiah, Apple could not get TKDN (Domestic Component Level) certification, which is necessary to obtain permission for sale. Indonesia's Industry Minister, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, had clearly stated that the sale of the iPhone 16 will not be allowed until Apple meets the full investment conditions.

Now, an agreement has been reached between Apple and the Indonesian government, under which Apple will invest $1 billion in Indonesia. Along with this, the Indonesian government is soon going to officially allow the sale of the iPhone 16. The Ministry of Industry may hold a press conference in this regard, where the new sales permit will be announced.
