Australia beat West Indies by 8 wickets with 28 balls remaining in the second T20 International match thanks to stormy half-centuries from Cameron Green (56*) and Josh Inglis (78*).

In the Jamaica match, West Indies took their first turn at batting and amassed 172 runs with a loss of 8 wickets within the set 20 overs. Australia surpassed the mark in a mere 15.2 overs losing two wickets. Andre Russell, in his final game, retired from the T20 International format never tasting the sweetness of victory.

With this victory, Australia has earned a 2-0 lead in the five-match T20 International series. The Kangaroo side had already won the first T20 International match by three wickets. The third T20 International match of the series will be played between the two teams on Saturday.

Chasing the target of 173 runs, Australia could not get off to a good start with Glenn Maxwell (12) and captain Mitchell Marsh (21). Jason Holder got Maxwell caught out by wicketkeeper Hope. Marsh was caught out by wicketkeeper Alzari Joseph.

From here, Josh Inglis and Cameron Green salvaged Australia's innings and started taking the West Indies bowlers to task.

Inglis and Green shared a 131-run partnership for the third wicket, which was the best partnership for the third wicket by Australia in T20 International cricket. They broke the record of Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell, who shared a 118-run partnership.

Inglis scored an unbeaten 78 off just 33 balls with the help of seven fours and five sixes. At the same time, Green scored an unbeaten 56 off 32 balls with the help of three fours and four sixes. Jason Holder and Alzari Joseph got one wicket each from West Indies.

Earlier, West Indies, who accepted the invitation to bat, got off to a stormy start with Brandon King (51). He added 63 runs for the first wicket with captain Shai Hope (9). Adam Zampa gave Australia a big success by getting King caught by Green. After this, the Kangaroo bowlers made a strong comeback and did not let the Caribbean team take advantage of the good start.

Andre Russell could not do much in his farewell match and scored 36 runs in 15 balls with the help of two fours and four sixes. Nathan Ellis ended Russell's innings by getting him caught out by wicketkeeper Inglis. The West Indies team could score 172 runs by losing 8 wickets in 20 overs.

Adam Zampa took the maximum three wickets for Australia. Glenn Maxwell and Nathan Ellis got two wickets each. Ben Dwarshuis got one success.
