On the caste census, BJP President and Union Minister JP Nadda said, This decision will empower all economically and socially backward classes, promote inclusion and create new avenues for the progress of the deprived.

Nadda targeted the Congress and alleged that it was using this issue for political gain. Nadda said on social media, the Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a historic decision of caste census. This decision is extremely important from the point of view of bringing economically, socially and educationally backward castes into the mainstream and giving respect to the people who have been deprived of their rights for a long time. For a long time, the Congress has fulfilled its political interests by increasing animosity between castes and making them a means of vote bank. He said that Congress always opposed caste census while in power, the proof of which is that after independence, the country has not done so. This unprecedented decision of the Modi government will increase social harmony.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde praised the Central Government's decision to conduct a caste census and called it a historic milestone. Addressing a press conference here, Shinde said the census will usher in a new era of social justice by enabling accurate policy-making based on real demographic data of different castes.

Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar said that the decision of the Central Government to conduct caste census is welcome. This is an old demand of our people. It is a matter of great happiness that the Central Government has decided to conduct caste census. This will reveal the number of people of different classes, which will lead to efforts for their development.

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan supported caste census. He said that this will give the government data to prepare various welfare schemes for the people, but such data should not be made public. This can promote casteism.
