Pakistani woman living in India for 35 years asked to go back, said- now I have no one there
Pahalgam Attack: The woman has made an emotional appeal that she should not be separated from her family. The woman has appealed to the government with folded hands to let her stay with her family.

Since the attack on Pahalgam, the Indian government has sent a directive to all Pakistani citizens to leave the country, following which Pakistani citizens are departing India and heading back. But among all this, a number of such cases are also emerging that are bringing us close to emotional moments. One such example involves Sharda Bai who has lived as a resident of India for the past 35 years. Now Odisha Police have asked Sharda Bai to immediately leave India. According to officials, Sharda Bai's visa was revoked and now she will have to return to Pakistan without any delay. Police have issued a warning that if the orders are not complied with then the law will be enforced.
Sharda Bai was married to Mahesh Kukreja many years ago in a Hindu family in Bolangir, Odisha. The woman also has a son and a daughter, who are all Indian citizens. The woman has many other valid Indian documents including voter ID. However, the woman could never get Indian citizenship. Now that the woman has been asked to go back, she has made an emotional appeal that she should not be separated from her family. The woman has appealed to the government with folded hands to let her stay with her family.
The woman appealed and said, 'I first came to Koraput and then Bolangir. I have no one in Pakistan now. Even my passport has become very old. I request the government with folded hands to please let me stay in India. I have two adult children and grandchildren here. I want to live here as an Indian citizen.' It is worth noting that on April 22, terrorists attacked Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir and brutally killed 26 innocent tourists. This was one of the biggest attacks on tourists in the valley. There is tension in India-Pakistan relations since the attack. India has also suspended the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan.
