Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed that the Pakistan women's side will not be going to India to participate at the ICC Women's ODI World Cup to be hosted later this year. Naqvi stated that after agreeing to the hybrid model earlier this year, Pakistan will be playing the games at neutral venues too. The PCB chairman added that they will be playing at the neutral venues in the hosting of India. Indian team does not go to play at Pakistan due to security concerns too. Team India has played the recently hosted Champions Trophy at the neutral venue UAE and become the champion too.

PCB chairman said after the Pakistan vs Bangladesh ICC Women's World Cup qualifier match that now everything will happen as per the agreement. India will decide where the matches will be held, because they are the hosts. Wherever they decide, our team will go and play there. But Pakistan's team will not go to India. The agreement has been made, so India will have to follow it.

In fact, due to the tense political relations between the two countries, India has not toured Pakistan since 2008. The two arch rivals last played a bilateral series in India in 2012-13, which included white-ball matches. After that, India and Pakistan have been facing each other mainly in ICC tournaments and the Asia Cup. Pakistan hosted the Champions Trophy in February, but India's matches were played at a neutral venue.

Before the Champions Trophy, the ICC resolved the issue of hosting rights. At that time the ICC had decided that the Champions Trophy would be held in Pakistan, but India's matches would be held at some other neutral venue. Along with this, it was also decided that a hybrid model will be adopted for all ICC events in the 2024-27 cycle, which will be held in India or Pakistan.

Pakistan's women's team has confirmed its place in the mega event by remaining unbeaten in the ICC Women's ODI World Cup Qualifier. Pakistan hosted the qualifiers and won all five matches, securing a place in the World Cup. Bangladesh became the second team to qualify for the tournament. While Ireland, Scotland, West Indies and Thailand have not been able to qualify. Let us tell you that India, England, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and Sri Lanka have already qualified for the Women's ODI World Cup to be played from 26 September to 2 November 2025.
