Improvement in health of Sitharaman admitted in AIIMS

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman can be discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi tomorrow i.e. Wednesday (December 28). According to reports, the health of 63-year-old Nirmala Sitharaman is improving and she is expected to be discharged from AIIMS a day later.
The Finance Minister was admitted to a private ward of AIIMS on Monday due to symptoms of viral fever. Earlier on Saturday, Sitharaman attended the 35th annual convocation of Dr. MGR Medical University in Chennai. Sitharaman in her speech had said that medical education in Tamil Nadu should be taught in the Tamil language as it definitely needed to be strengthened.
Sitharaman is scheduled to present the Union Budget on February 1, 2023. He chaired the pre-budget consultation meetings held in virtual mode from November 21-28 for the budget. The minister indicated on Friday that the upcoming budget would push growth on the back of public spending.
Nirmala Sitharaman's health deteriorated while reading the budget speech in the year 2020. In 2020, he broke his own previous record by giving a very long budget speech. At that time, he had read about 160 minutes long budget speech. By the time the speech was over, his health had deteriorated.
He was sweating profusely and was having difficulty speaking. During this, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari gave him a toffee so that he could get some relief. Later TMC's Saugata Roy and Kakoli Ghosh were also seen offering something like toffee to the Finance Minister.
