HTC Launches Vive Eagle AI Smart Glasses in Taiwan with GPT/Gemini Integration, Voice-Only Control, and Sleek Wayfarer Design
HTC has launched its first display-less AI smart glasses, HTC Vive Eagle. It has an inbuilt AI assistant running on Google Gemini or OpenAI GPT (beta), which offers features like music play, photo-video capture, and translation. The device is priced around Rs 45500 and is currently available only in Taiwan.

HTC Vive Eagle Artificial Intelligence (AI) Smart Glasses launched this Thursday. These wearable glasses are HTC's attempt at the display-less smart glasses segment. It comes pre-installed with an AI assistant, fueled by Google's Gemini or OpenAI's GPT (which is in beta right now). HTC Vive Eagle lets you play music, ask the AI assistant questions, take photos and videos, and translate signboards and images, all through voice commands only.
The HTC Vive Eagle is priced at NT$15,600 (approximately Rs. 45,500). It is not yet available outside Taiwan, where one can experience and purchase them at 2020EYEhaus and certain Taiwan Mobile stores. The AI smart glasses come in four colours - Berry, Black, Coffee, and Grey.
HTC's Vive Eagle is a wayfarer-style AI smart glass that weighs 48.8 grams with lenses and 42.8 grams without lenses. It has a Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. The smart glasses have a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera that records images at 3024 x 4032p resolution and videos at 1512 x 2016p resolution at 30fps. It has Zeiss UV400 protection lenses.
Talking about the audio setup, HTC Vive Eagle has a beamforming microphone array, which has one directional and three omnidirectional microphones. It also has 2 open-ear stereo speakers. There is an LED indicator on the left side, which lights up when clicking photos or recording videos.
HTC Vive Eagle smart glasses have a 235mAh battery. The company claims that they give more than 36 hours of standby time and up to 4.5 hours of continuous music playback. It has a magnetic charging cable, which charges 1 to 50 percent in 10 minutes and 80 percent in 23 minutes.
Apart from this, the AI glasses support Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for connectivity, and they have got IP54 rating which gives dust and water protection. It is worth noting that these AI glasses need to be paired with a smartphone running iOS 17.6 or newer, or Android 10 or newer.
