On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for December delivery rose by Rs 53, or 0.09 percent, to Rs 60,400 per 10 grams with a turnover of 12,767 lots.
Globally, gold futures rose 0.03 percent to US$1,974.10 an ounce in New York.
Silver prices rose by Rs 205 to Rs 70,839 per kg in futures trade on Wednesday as participants increased their deals due to strong spot demand. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for December delivery rose by Rs 205, or 0.29 percent, to Rs 70,839 per kg in 22,845 lots.
