Eastern and Southeastern Rajasthan to Face Intense Cold; Western Region to See Moderate Chill
Rajasthan Weather: Due to the influence of a western disturbance, temperatures are expected to drop sharply in Rajasthan in the first week of December. A cold wave alert has been issued in Shekhawati.
A new western disturbance appears to be active over the Himalayas. Its impact is expected to bring a sharp change in weather from December 5th. The impact of cold winds blowing from the north is also expected to cause a significant drop in temperatures in Rajasthan. According to meteorologists, Rajasthan is expected to experience severe winters from December to February. According to the Meteorological Department, the number of cold wave days this season will be higher than normal, and minimum temperatures are also expected to be below average. However, the cold wave caused by the western disturbance may be slightly less this time, keeping daytime temperatures around normal.
The cold will be more severe in eastern and southeastern Rajasthan, while western Rajasthan is expected to experience moderate winters. A yellow alert for cold wave has been issued for Churu, Jhunjhunu, and Sikar from December 3rd to 5th. Mild cold wave conditions may also develop in other districts, including Jaipur, Alwar, Nagaur, and Dausa. Due to heavy snowfall in northern India and cold winds blowing from there, the impact of the cold wave may be more pronounced in Rajasthan this time.
In the past 24 hours, temperatures have dropped by 1–2 degrees in several cities, including Pilani, Alwar, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Churu, and Sirohi. The lowest minimum temperature was recorded at 5.8 degrees Celsius in Lunkaransar. Fatehpur recorded a minimum of 6.5 degrees Celsius, Churu 7.4 degrees Celsius, Ganganagar 7.8 degrees Celsius, Pilani 7.2 degrees Celsius, and Alwar 8 degrees Celsius. Most cities experienced bright sunshine on Monday, providing relief from the cold. The maximum day temperature was recorded at 30.1 degrees Celsius in Barmer, 29.7 degrees Celsius in Jalore, and 28 degrees Celsius in Nagaur.
