Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi on Wednesday. She thanked him for the continuous development of highways in Rajasthan. In the last ten years, the central government has approved works worth about one lakh crore to strengthen the road network in Rajasthan.

Diya Kumari assured him that the state government will provide all possible support for the timely implementation of various schemes approved to strengthen the road network in the state. She also demanded that Rajasthan be sanctioned more roads from the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund CRIF.

Referring to various important works related to Rajasthan, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari demanded from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari that Brij-Chaurasi Parikrama Marg be declared a national highway and developed. Along with this, he demanded that the Central Government should issue approval for the construction of ropeways at places of religious and tourist importance by the Tourism Department of Rajasthan under the 'Parvatmala Yojana' of the Government of India.

He also sought approval from the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for constructing 9 Greenfield Expressways in the state. Diya Kumari said that out of nine Greenfield Expressways to be constructed in Rajasthan, the DPR of Jaipur-Kishangarh-Jodhpur has been sent to NHAI, and the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has also been requested for approval of works of the remaining eight expressways.

He informed Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari that there is a plan to develop highways in Rajasthan and the plan is of Rs 8322 crore. Approval for additional works will also be given if needed. He also assured to take concrete steps to speed up the completion of work on the Delhi-Jaipur-Kishangarh route.

In her meeting with the Union Minister Gadkari, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari appraised the issues regarding the Baroda Mev-Kumher-Nadbai-Bharatpur highway, link highway for connecting Mathura with Jaipur-Agra road via Nadbai, a connectivity survey for entry-exit to Bandikui from Delhi Mumbai Expressway and black spot survey on Jaipur-Ringas road, laying ring roads in Jaipur, Udaipur, and Ajmer, the earliest completion of four-lane Elevated Flyover construction in Jodhpur and flyover at Saras Chauraha, Ghana, Sevar Mod, Sheesham Tiraha of Bharatpur along with underpasses and service roads near the Medical College, Technology Park, and Barso. Diya Kumari said that while for the last ten years, a lot of help has been available at the level of the Central government for the construction of the highways in Rajasthan, a double-engine government in Rajasthan will now establish new dimensions of infrastructural development.
