The Special Cleanliness Drive 5.0 was carried out successfully by the Department of Commerce from October 2nd to October 31st, 2025. It was an initiative for cleanliness, economies, and redressal of pending complaints by the Department and its PSUs, and affiliated organizations. Under the initiative, the department looked at enhancing administrative processes for timely resolution of issues apart from improving workplace management and cleanliness standards.

The progress of Special Campaign 5.0 was closely monitored by the department's nodal officer and its field organizations. The active participation of officials from the department and its public sector undertakings and organizations contributed to the campaign's success. The ministry said in a statement on Saturday that a total of 277 cleanliness drives were carried out. Approximately ₹70 lakh in revenue was generated from the disposal of e-waste and scrap, freeing up 36,005 square feet of office space.

During the drive, efforts were made to promote electric vehicles by installing large-scale charging points at the Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Limited (ECGC) headquarters in Mumbai. Initiatives were also taken to reduce the carbon footprint through the installation of rooftop solar power systems. Positive changes were also made to the office premises, including increased greenery and improved parking facilities.
