The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the setting up of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies in 2 lakh uncovered panchayats in the next five years. Apart from this, the formation of seven new battalions for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police and the Vibrant Village Program has also been approved for the financial year 2022-23 to 2025-26 with a financial allocation of Rs 800 crore. Union Minister Anurag Thakur informed about the decisions of the cabinet.

3 big decisions of the cabinet: -
1. Vibrant Village Program approved: The Modi government has approved the Vibrant Village Program to strengthen the borders of the country. Under this, infrastructure will be developed in the villages situated on the northern borders of the country. Rs 4800 crore has been allocated for this. Anurag Thakur said that road and other infrastructure will be strengthened in 2966 villages of a total of 19 districts of Ladakh, Jammu Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
2. Agricultural Credit Society will be formed: The cabinet has approved the establishment of credit societies to strengthen the grassroots reach of the cooperative movement in the country. Anurag Thakur said that a decision has been taken to form new packs in 2 lakh panchayats. A target of 5 years has been set for this. 25 different features have been included in it. The work of the Dairy Storage Credit Society (CEC) etc. has been included in this.
3. Sinkulna Tunnel and 7 new battalions: The Modi cabinet has also approved the construction of the Sinkulna Tunnel. This will provide all-weather road connectivity to Ladakh. Its length will be 4.8 km and Rs 1600 crore will be spent. This will increase the ground movement of military forces. At the same time, ITBP will form seven new battalions to monitor the China border. Along with this, an operational base will be made in which 9 thousand 400 more soldiers will be deployed.
