V. Srinivas will be the new Chief Secretary of Rajasthan. The DOPT has issued his release orders, after which at any time, his appointment orders can be issued by the state government. The central government has agreed to the proposal sent by the state government, and has released him early for Rajasthan. According to information, V. Srinivas can take charge on or before Monday. It is mentioned that it is the third big bureaucratic appointment in Rajasthan during the Bhajan Lal Sharma government, in which an officer has been transferred from Delhi to Rajasthan. The first was of Sudhansh Pant, the current Chief Secretary, who was transferred from Delhi and came to Jaipur. Before becoming Chief Secretary of Rajasthan, Pant served as Secretary in the Health Department in Delhi. Although Pant still has about 14 months left before retirement, he was unhappy with his current situation in Rajasthan, and therefore, there had been speculation about his return to Delhi for the past several months. Pant is being appointed as Secretary of the Social Welfare Department in Delhi.

Another important appointment in Rajasthan was that of the DGP in the police department. Current Rajasthan DGP Rajiv Sharma was also transferred from Delhi to Rajasthan. Before coming to Rajasthan, Rajiv Sharma was the Director of the Bureau of Police Development Research in Delhi. Sharma is the most senior IPS officer.

The new Chief Secretary, V. Srinivas, has spent most of his time in Delhi. Before being relieved for Rajasthan, Srinivas was in charge of the important department of the Department of Police (DoPT) in Delhi since 2021. He previously served in Delhi from 2013 to 2018. V. Srinivas is an 89-batch IAS officer and will retire in September next year. He has nine months left as Chief Secretary in Rajasthan. In such a situation, either a new Chief Secretary will be appointed in Rajasthan after 9 months or the government can give him an extension.
