In his New Year’s address for his employees, he said that Artificial Intelligence is an accelerator that increases the pace of work and that technology in the hands of skillful hands multiplies these hands’ value. Artificial Intelligence does not destroy industries: it accelerates work. He believes that when technology is combined with skilled hands, it multiplies the value of those hands.

This was a very astute point made by Anand Mahindra regarding the use of AI, which will make the blue-collar worker (factory worker or a worker working on a machine) emerge as gold-collar professionals. This means that if a technician or an artisan knows how to use AI, then the value of the services provided by them will rise above the levels ever achieved before. This is because people who know how to use machines as well as AI will be most valued in the future.

Reiterating his commitment to skill development, Mahindra mentioned taking over as the Board Chairman of the Young India Skills University in Telangana. He said that this institute will prepare youth for the high-tech world of the future. Mahindra Tractors and Tech Mahindra academies are also working on a mission to equip young people with AI and modern technologies.
