Government to Boost Supply Chain Resilience, Even With Higher Spending: Piyush Goyal
Piyush Goyal stated that we are examining each supply chain sector-wise to identify weaknesses. We need to expand capacity, and we are willing to invest additional resources to improve the resilience of our supply chains.



Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stated that the government is working to address supply chain issues and strengthen them across all sectors, even if this requires additional expenditure.
Addressing the UNCTAD ministerial roundtable on "Towards Resilient, Sustainable, and Inclusive Supply Chains and Trade Logistics," Goyal explained that the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative has been launched. Its objective is to make the country self-reliant and make trade logistics more efficient.
The government has launched initiatives such as the Production-Linked Incentive Scheme and the policy to promote semiconductor production in the country to promote domestic manufacturing. He said India has launched a $1 trillion national master plan to boost infrastructure development.
