Let's take a closer look at this prepaid plan and understand what the users get.

The Rs 485 prepaid plan of BSNL offers unlimited voice calling, 100SMS per day, and 2GB of daily data. Once the limit of 2GB is exhausted, the speed drops to 40 Kbps. The service validity of this prepaid plan is 72days. BSNL users who wish to recharge this plan can do so through the BSNL Self Care app or the telecom company's website. The state-owned telecom company is focusing on expanding its high-speed network in India. According to government officials, the company has deployed approximately 98,000 4G sites across the country. This 4G expansion will continue beyond these sites, and the telecom company is also preparing to launch 5G in the next few months.

Both the company's 4G and 5G will be based on home-grown technology. The 4G already deployed is entirely developed by Indian companies, including Tejas Networks and the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT). Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is the system integrator and is assisting with the deployment and maintenance of the mobile networks.
