BCCI Team Announcement for India vs West Indies Tests Likely Delayed Due to Selector Changes

The Indian cricket team will soon return to Test cricket, focusing temporarily on T20 Internationals for the Asia Cup 2025 for now. Just 4 days after the Asia Cup final, on October 2, the India vs West Indies Test series in the World Test Championship cycle will start. However, the announcement of the Indian team for this two-Test match series may be postponed till the last week of September, as two important changes are to be made in the BCCI selection committee.

In fact, BCCI selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar will continue in his post, but two new selectors will come. It is not yet clear who will be taken. Shiv Sundar Das, Subroto Banerjee, or Sridharan Sharat are expected to get a place. There may be a delay in the selection of the team due to two changes in the selection committee. It is believed that the process of interviewing the selectors will take about two weeks to complete.

InsideSport's report quoted a BCCI official as saying that there is still a month left for the home Test series against West Indies. There will be no problem due to the home series. The ideal situation would be to include new selectors before the announcement of the Test team. If this process takes time, then the current committee will announce the team in the second or third week.
