The match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 7th game of IPL 2026 will take place on Friday in the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The batting performance of Ayush Mhatre in this match was excellent and he scored a fifty. Ayush is the youngest player to score a fifty at this venue.

Ayush scored the fifty at 18 years and 261 days at MA Chidambaram Stadium that is CSK's home ground. He also equaled the record set by Prithvi Shaw for the most 50-plus scores before turning 19 in IPL history. It is Ayush’s second fifty in IPL while Prithvi Shaw also has two fifties before turning 19.

Ayush batted brilliantly, scoring a powerful 73 runs off 43 balls. During this innings, he hit six fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 169. After losing the toss and opting to bat first, Chennai Super Kings had a poor start. Sanju Samson was dismissed for just seven runs. However, Ayush, along with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, steadied the innings. They added 82 runs for the second wicket. Ruturaj scored 28 runs off 22 balls. However, Ayush held one end. Punjab Kings' bowlers looked completely helpless in front of him.

Chennai Super Kings made one change to their playing eleven for this match. CSK included Prashant Veer in place of Matthew Short. Prashant was bought by CSK for Rs 14.20 crore in the auction. However, Chennai Super Kings have not had a good start in IPL 2026. The team suffered an 8-wicket defeat against Rajasthan Royals in the first match.
