An Indian operating system named NxtQuantum OS was announced, it will be available on new phones with AI+

An Indian deep tech software firm NxtQuantum Shift Technologies on Friday unveiled its Indian mobile operating system. The name of this system is NxtQuantum OS and it is developed from scratch in India. It ensures that no user data is kept in servers abroad. This firm is also developing AI+ smartphones, the founder of this firm is Madhav Seth. NxtQuantum says that the OS has AI engines trained locally, which drive a lot of intelligent and context-aware capabilities.

The deep tech firm made the announcement in a press release, and it stated that the first mobile operating system is its first and that AI+ Pulse and Nova 5G will be the first smartphones to come pre-loaded with this OS. Both the smartphones will launch on July 8 in India.

The company claims that the operating system gives users full control over their data, including information on where the data is stored, who can access it, and why access is given.

Notably, the company said that all user data, such as preferences, usage history, and backups, is stored on Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY)-approved Google Cloud servers in India. NxtQuantum OS is built on Google Cloud's zero-trust security models and adopts a consent-first approach to data sharing. The company claimed that there is 'no third-party access, no unauthorized tracking and no foreign data routing.'

Madhan Seth, founder and CEO of NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, said, 'NxtQuantum OS is designed from the first principles - your phone should work for you, not against you. What you do on your device stays with you. We cannot access it either.'

At present, details about the operating system's interface, features and customization options are not available. But the company has shared some information about what to expect. Through a product stack made and updated in India, NxtQuantum OS offers system-level telemetry controls (remotely collecting, measuring and transmitting data from devices to servers) and locally trained artificial intelligence (AI) engines that power many features.
