E-commerce major Amazon has opened its latest, high-tech corporate office in Bengaluru, a hub known as India's "Silicon Valley." This is the second-largest office that Amazon is opening in Asia. This is seen as a major boost for India's tech and e-commerce industry, which will give a boost to the Indian economy and create thousands of jobs.
Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, MB Patil, inaugurated the new 1.1 million square foot office near Yelahanka on Monday. The new 12-story campus, which spans over 5 acres, is located 15 kilometers from Kempegowda International Airport and will be able to accommodate over 7,000 employees. It will be used for e-commerce, operations, payment, technology, and seller services.
Minister Patil stated that this is Amazon's 10th corporate office in the state, further strengthening the company's two-decade-old relationship with Karnataka. Amazon has ambitious plans to invest a massive $35 billion in India over the next four years.

This investment is expected to support 15 million small businesses and create millions of jobs. The minister expressed confidence that Karnataka will receive a significant portion of this investment. Sameer Kumar, Country Manager, Amazon India, stated, "India remains a long-term priority for Amazon, and Bengaluru plays a key role in this journey. The city remains a major hub for innovation and talent."
