Administration alert: Risk to human lives; Bird flu found in dead birds found in Jaisalmer
Rajasthan: H5N1 avian flu (bird flu) has been confirmed in the dead Kuranja birds found in the border district of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. After the confirmation, the administration has become active. To prevent the spread of bird flu among animals and humans, the dead Kuranja birds have been buried. The administration has appealed to the people that if a Kuranja bird is found dead, do not touch it.
Confirmation about the infection of H5N1 avian flu, generally referred to as bird flu, has been reported in the dead Kuranja birds found in the border district of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. The confirmation thus activated the administration.
The dead Kuranja birds have been buried in order to save the animals and humans from bird flu. The administration has appealed to the people that if any Kuranja bird is found dead, it should not be touched. A team of officials and doctors has been formed to control bird flu by the district administration, medical, forest, and animal husbandry departments.
So far, 28 Kuranja birds have died in Jaisalmer. The areas where these birds were found dead have been declared hotspots. After the death of the Kuranja birds found dead the previous day, their samples were sent to the National High-Security Animal Disease Institute in Bhopal for examination. In fact, after the examination, bird flu was confirmed.
