The tricolour was not hoisted in two schools in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district on August 15. On this, a big action has been taken against the teachers by the administration. The education department has suspended 7 teachers from the school. Besides, a committee has also been constituted to probe the matter.
In fact, the tricolour was not hoisted on Independence Day in Middle School Batwadi and Primary School Doga Batwadi located in the Inderwal area of the Kishtwar district. After this, there was anger among the local people. Regarding this, the education department took action and suspended the teachers. The department says that the teachers have insulted the tricolour. All these teachers will remain suspended till the committee completes the investigation in this matter.
The suspended teachers are Ayaz Ahmed, Sajid Ahmed Wani, Farooq Ahmed Boomal, Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani, Mohammad Sikandar of Middle School Batwadi and Shahida Bano and Ghulam Hussain Bhat of Primary School Doga Batwadi.
Earlier, the headmistress of a government school in Tamil Nadu's Dharmapuri district had refused to hoist the tricolour in the school on the occasion of Independence Day. Behind this, he cited his religious beliefs, after which the assistant headmistress hoisted the tricolour.
The name of the headmistress is Tamilselvi. He explained the reason behind not hoisting the tricolour in a video that he is a Yakoba Christian and his belief does not allow him to bow his head before anyone but God. He said that his intention was not to insult the tricolour. They respect the tricolour, but in their religion, only God is saluted.
