Indian sarees are making a splash in the European fashion industry. Keeping in view the rising fashion of sarees, models will ramp walk in sarees at the fashion show 'The Offbeat Saree' being held in the UK capital London on May 19. Through this show, the world will be exposed to the new fashion of sarees which is in trend.
The show is being organized by the Design Museum. It will be Britain's biggest fashion show of its kind. The show will showcase 90 types of sarees from India. From well-known fashion studios to new designers will participate in it. It will also include the sari that was worn for the first time at the Met Gala fashion show and also the sari that Lady Gaga wore in 2010.
It was designed by fashion designer Tarun Tahliani. The show will also feature the Jaali sari by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla that Deepika Padukone wore at the Cannes Film Festival in 2022. Actually, today's young generation has taken the saree in full swing. It is no longer a traditional dress. Now girls and women all over the world are wearing sarees in new styles. The organizers of the festival told Dainik Bhaskar – The look of the saree has changed in the last few years.
Designers are making many different dresses from sarees. Sarees ranging from gowns to ready-to-wear sarees have reached the market. Even sarees made of steel threads have started coming. Now designers are experimenting a lot with the threads of sarees. Priya Khanchandani, the curator of the exhibition, says – 5000 years old clothes are being used the most in history at this time. This festival will create a global identity for Indian saree designs.
Now the way of wearing a saree has also changed. Hybrid sarees are in fashion. Designer Diksha Khanna's ready-made sarees are being worn with shirts instead of blouses. Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who is preparing for this fashion event, says – I have tried that Indianness is visible in the design of my sarees. feel like yourself
