Six thousand British soldiers will take part in the coronation of King Charles. This will be the biggest deployment of troops in Britain in the last 70 years. Britain's Ministry of Defense has given information about this. The ministry has said that thousands of soldiers will escort King Charles and Queen Camilla between Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey during the coronation.
The coronation will take place on 6 May. Apart from this, the new king will be given a gun salute from British warships and army bases across the country. This will be followed by a display of World War II military aircraft 'Spit Fire' and a flypast of modern fighter jets.
Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said that this would be a grand and wonderful tribute to King from our side. Actually, in Britain, only the King or Queen is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. Not only the British but soldiers from 35 Commonwealth countries will also take part in the King's coronation.
The King and Queen's motorcade will travel 2 kilometres before reaching Westminster from Buckingham Palace. During this, he will reach Admiralty Arch, Trafalgar Square, Statue of Charles-1 and Parliament for the coronation at 11 am. After the ceremony, the King-Queen will return to the Palace in a 260-year-old Gold State Coach Chariot.
Camilla, the wife of King Charles-III, the new Queen of Britain, will not wear Queen Elizabeth's Kohinoor-studded crown during the coronation. This was announced by Buckingham Palace in London. According to BBC, the Royal Family has taken this decision keeping in mind that relations with India should not deteriorate.
After this decision, Queen Mary's 100-year-old crown is being prepared for Camilla. The Queen Consort will be there on May 6 to officially elevate Camilla to Queen status. During this time she will wear the new crown. According to reports, the Royal Family has also sent Queen Mary's crown to be resized according to Camilla's head.
