Bengaluru's talented racer Koparam Shreyas Harish succumbed to injuries sustained after a crash in the third round of the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship at the Madras International Circuit in Chennai on Saturday. Following the incident, the Madras Motor Sports Club canceled all races till Sunday and the racing world was in mourning.
Born on 26 July 2010, Shreyas, a student of Kensari School in Bengaluru, was one of the rising stars as he won multiple races at the national level competing in Petronas' rookie category. At the national level, Shreyas also won the TVS One-Mac Championship, but after qualifying in pole position, he lost his life in an accident during the race on Saturday.
