Yuvraj Singh's father surprised by Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma's decision to retire, said- at least they should…
Virat Kohli Test Retirement: Yuvraj Singh's father Yograj Singh has expressed surprise at Virat Kohli and Rohita Sharma's decision to retire from Test cricket.

Yograj Singh, the father of ex-Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has been left astonished by Virat Kohli's decision to retire from the format of Test cricket. Yograj Singh opined that Virat Kohli ought to have quit Test cricket now. There was still much cricket remaining in him. He could have still played three-four more years.
Yograj Singh said on Monday, "If players keep themselves fit, they can play till 50 years. Age is not a factor. The retirement of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli has surprised me. Both of them were great players, such players are made in centuries. But, this is a personal decision of both, so I cannot comment on it. But personally, I believe that Rohit and Virat have a lot of cricket left." Yograj Singh said, "I think both of them were a little early in retiring. They should have played for at least one more year. Shubman Gill, who is going to be the new captain, should have been explained a little, should have been given experience. Just like a father hands over his legacy to his son, in the same way he should have prepared the team a little before leaving. As a player, I will think the same at the time of my retirement too. However, our young players are good, so the decision taken by Rohit and Virat is right."
He said, “Just like Yuvraj Singh is for me, similarly all the players of Team India are for me. As a father, I would tell them to stay. The team needs you right now. One can play for a long time while working on fitness. Virat's fitness is such that if someone follows it, he can become a great player. Such great players should play for 40 to 42 years. I was also surprised and disappointed by Yuvraj Singh's retirement. I was not asked. I still tell him that you could have played cricket for five-six years. What happened, there is no Test cricket, no ODI, there is a lot of cricket nowadays. You can come back to the team by performing. But big players feel that they have done a lot. This is also true but I would say that a player never grows old. A player is always a player.”
Praising Rohit and Kohli, Yograj Singh said, "Both were great cricketers, it was nice to watch them play, but every good thing has an end. Similarly, they have also retired. One day they had to go, personally I would say that they could have stayed for one more year."
