This Google-owned video platform announced that this feature, in collaboration with Gemini AI, detects the time of a video when the audience is most attentive and the ad would be displayed at the same time in order for both the reach and effectiveness of the ad can be maximized.

According to YouTube's blog post, this feature analyzes the video frame-by-frame and on the basis of the transcript. Its purpose is to identify the moment of excitement or emotional climax where the audience is paying the most attention. For example, in a demo video, Gemini chose the moment when a man is about to propose to his girlfriend and played the ad at that moment.

A large part of YouTube's revenue comes from advertisements. This feature is beneficial not only for the company but also for content creators, as they also get revenue from advertising. Already, YouTube is adopting the strategy of showing ads before the video starts, in the middle, and now while pausing the video.
