WhatsApp is used by millions of people worldwide, including in India. The company, on its part, has been introducing new features geared at improving the user experience. It is preparing a new security feature to help users protect against cyber attacks, if a recent report is to be believed.

The company is adding a new feature called "StrictAccount Settings." It's designed for people who are highly vulnerable to targeted cyberattacks. Feature tracker WABetaInfo finds this new feature in the WhatsApp beta version of Android 2.25.33.4. Presently, the feature is not at the testing stage but in development.

This mode allows users to unlock multiple security settings in their account with a single toggle. This means you won't have to manage privacy options individually. Let's explore the advanced security features available under this mode.

IP Address Protection: This mode allows you to hide your IP address during calls. WhatsApp calls will be routed through its servers, preventing anyone from tracking your location.

Media & File Blocking: In this mode, photos, videos, or documents from unknown numbers will not be automatically downloaded. This will provide protection against malware or phishing links.

Link Preview Disabled: Furthermore, in this mode, the preview of links sent in chats will not automatically open. This significantly reduces the possibility of IP leaks or tracking.

Mute Unknown Calls: Calls from unknown numbers will be automatically muted, preventing spam or fraudulent calls.

Group Invite Restrictions: This mode also allows you to control whether only saved contacts can add you to groups. This will reduce unwanted groups and spam.

Privacy Controls: This mode allows you to limit details like your profile photo, status, and last seen to only your contacts.

Security Alerts: This mode will send you a notification if a contact's encryption code changes so you can verify the authenticity of the chat.

Two-Step Verification Auto Enable: In addition, two-step verification will automatically activate in this mode, providing additional security to your account via a PIN.
