WhatsApp for iOS Gets Message Translation Feature with 21 Language Support
WhatsApp has begun rolling out a new Message Translation feature for iOS. Users can now translate messages into 21 languages with this feature. This feature is included in the new WhatsApp version 25.28.74 for iOS users. The company stated that translation will be done on-device and securely, preventing anyone from accessing user chats.

Recently, WhatsApp announced the launch of the new Message Translations feature on iOS and Android smartphones. Now, this feature has finally begun rolling out to iOS users. On Tuesday, this update was included in the new version of the app. Users can now translate messages into 21 languages on WhatsApp. Some users have started receiving this feature after updating to the latest version from the App Store, and it will reach other devices in the coming days. According to reports, WhatsApp is using Apple's Translation APIs for this translation, ensuring fast and secure translation.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, this new Message Translation feature is included in the latest iOS build of WhatsApp released on the App Store. This means users will need to update their app to WhatsApp for iOS version 25.28.74, and the feature will gradually become active on their devices.
According to the report, this new translation framework will automatically detect the language of the message, eliminating the need for users to manually select the source language. However, if the automatic detection is incorrect, users can manually select the source language. Users will need to download each language pack separately to ensure this feature works without an internet connection.
According to the report, this latest iOS build includes Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin, Simplified), Chinese (Mandarin, Traditional), Dutch, English (UK), English (US), French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
Last month, the company introduced this feature through a blog post. This in-app message translation feature will work in individual chats, group chats, and channel updates. On Android, users can currently translate between English, Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, and Arabic. To do this, users can long-press a text message and press the 'Translate' button.
The company said that Android users can also turn on automatic translation for the entire chat thread, eliminating the need to translate each message individually. Meta reported that the Message Translations feature was designed with privacy in mind. All translations happen on-device, and neither WhatsApp nor any third party can access the user's chats.
