Vivo Vision will launch in China this month, the company announced on Tuesday. The mixed reality headset was first showcased in March at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025. Its design resembles the Apple Vision Pro, featuring a large visor at the front and a thick headband at the back. The product will not be available for sale this year, but Vivo has confirmed that it will set up experience zones at offline centers for people to try it.

In a post on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, Vivo stated that the Vision mixed reality headset will launch on August 21 at 2:30 pm (12 noon IST). The launch will coincide with the company's annual Imaging Festival, which is happening on the same day.

The social media post teased that Vivo Vision will feature a 'breakthrough' ultra-lightweight design and offer a 'multi-dimensional immersion' experience.

In another Weibo post, Vivo Smart Terminal Product General Manager Hong Yi claimed that the headset will provide precise gesture control, allowing users to grab props in games and drag-and-drop floating documents simply by looking and gesturing. The interaction will feel as natural as actually holding something.

Hong Yi added that Vivo is the only company in the industry offering such an experience, doing so after Apple Vision Pro.

While detailed specifications are not yet revealed, the design of Vivo Vision looks similar to ski goggles, much like Apple's mixed reality headset. The teaser image suggests it will have numerous sensors for AR and VR features, including two sensors under the frame that may be used for gesture tracking of hands and fingers.

Earlier reports indicate the headset might feature a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon platform. More details are expected before the official launch. Vivo Vision Mixed Reality Headset is scheduled to be launched on August 21.
