Along with this, Oman's team has also withdrawn its name from the tournament. Now, in place of these two, the Bangladesh and Kazakhstan teams have been included in the draw.

Earlier, in most of the media news, there were reports of the Pakistan Hockey Team pulling out of the Asia Cup 2025. A month ago, the Pakistan Hockey Federation had declined to take the team to India, citing security concerns. Still, the Government of India had issued visas to the players of the Pakistan team.

This move of the Pakistan Hockey Federation has caused a big loss to it. Now the Pakistan team has also lost the opportunity to qualify for the Hockey World Cup, because only the team that wins the Asia Cup qualifies for the World Cup.
