Elon Musk's satellite internet company Starlink has officially commenced its operation in Bangladesh. The launch brings an era of speedy and dependable connectivity to distant and internet-starved regions, though it is much pricier than regular internet services.

Two residential plans of Starlink were launched in Bangladesh, one priced at 6,000 taka (approx. ₹ 4,200) and the other at 4,200 taka (approx. ₹ 2,900) every month. Apart from this, there is also an installation cost, which is 47,000 taka (approx. ₹ 32,900).

Starlink claims that its internet offers speeds of up to 300 Mbps. There is no data cap, meaning unlimited internet. Apart from this, there is no speed throttling, meaning full speed all the time. This makes Starlink different from many traditional internet providers in Bangladesh.

Faiz Ahmed Tayyab, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor, informed on Facebook that the launch of Starlink meets the 90-day target of the interim government. He said, "Although this service is expensive, it provides an option of high-quality and high-speed internet for premium customers,".
