The last time a bilateral series between India and Pakistan was held at a neutral venue was in 2014. For the last 9 years, India and Pakistan have been clashing only in the ICC and Asia Cup. In fact, apart from the ICC tournament, there have been proposals from Pakistan regarding the India-Pak match before. Former PCB Chairman Rameez Raja had proposed to regularize India-Pakistan matches through Tri-Series in 2022 itself. Under that proposal, Rameez had talked about holding the matches between India and Pakistan at neutral venues.
