School teacher molests girl in Kota (Rajasthan), angry villagers create ruckus; department sacks him
Rajasthan: A teacher of a government senior secondary school in a village in Kota, Rajasthan has been arrested for trying to sexually assault a class 12 girl. The minor girl alleged that the accused tried to force her to have physical relations and he forcibly held her hand several times.
A teacher from Kota region, Rajasthan was arrested for trying to sexually assault a girl in class 12, the police said. They further said that the accused was brought before the POCSO court on Friday to be sent into judicial custody.
The government school of Julmi village of Suket police station area of Kota district, where the incident occurred, was earlier selected under the special category 'Pradhan Mantri Shri School'. On the other hand, now the state Education Minister Madan Dilawar has taken cognizance of this incident and directed to issue a suspension order to the teacher. He also ordered the suspension of the school principal for not taking timely action in the case.
Suket police station in-charge Raghuveer Singh said on Friday that the accused Ved Prakash Bairwa (32) was arrested on Thursday on the complaint of the 17-year-old student. The minor has alleged that the accused tried to force her to have physical relations and he forcibly held her hand several times.
The SHO said that the student had reported the matter to her class teacher and principal but no action was taken. Then she told the whole thing to her parents, as soon as the news of the incident spread, hundreds of angry villagers reached the school to protest, where the staff locked themselves in a room after seeing the crowd.
The angry villagers created a ruckus in the school premises for about two and a half hours, while the student allegedly waited outside with a garland of shoes. The police produced the accused in the POCSO court on Friday, from where he was ordered to be sent to judicial custody. Kota District Education Officer (DEO) Krishna Kumar Sharma said that Bikaner Director of Secondary Education on Friday issued separate orders suspending the accused teacher Bairwa and principal Diwan Singh Rawat with immediate effect.
