Ravi Bishnoi Becomes Youngest Indian to Scalp 50 T20I Wickets
Indian off-spinner Ravi Bishnoi proved to be the wrecker-in-chief with the ball in his hand as he picked up a three-fer, which also took his T20I wicket tally beyond the 50-wicket mark.
Team India completed the whitewash of Bangladesh with a 133-run win over the visitors at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday. The men in blue posted a total of 297 runs thanks to Sanju Samson's ton and Suryakumar's half-century before limiting the Bangla Tigers to just 164 runs.
Indian off-spinner Ravi Bishnoi proved to be the wrecker-in-chief with the ball in his hand as he picked up a three-fer, which also took his T20I wicket tally beyond the 50-wicket mark. "Feeling great with this small milestone," the spinner said after the victory.
Bishnoi then removed Bangla skipper Najmul Shanto, Liton Das, and Rishad Hossain to dismantle the Bangladesh chase. Bishnoi became the youngest Indian to breach the 50-wicket mark in T20Is and also only the joint-second-quickest Indian to reach the milestone.
Indian off-spinner Kuldeep Yadav reached the milestone of 50 T20I wickets in 30 games, while Bishnoi and Arshdeep did so in 33. Bishnoi, who was rested for the first two games of the series, came back in style with his spin on Saturday.
He said that competition for a spot in the side is beneficial, and also spoke about the benefits of observing cricket from outside the field of play. "That is good pressure when you are having healthy competition within the team. I was looking forward to making the most of it," the off-spinner said.
