Successful applicants of Senior Citizen Pilgrimage will not have to wait till September-October for the Yatra. The Gehlot government of the state will now take 40,000 senior citizens to visit pilgrimage sites before the elections. There is a possibility that the yatra may start from June 14-15. The government is trying to make everyone go on pilgrimage before the election code of conduct is imposed. Earlier last year when the pilgrimage started, the yatra started in October-November. Which lasted till December. At that time 20 thousand senior citizens were made to travel.
Those who applied in the year 2022 to the Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme of the Devasthan Department. Among those who did not get a chance. A lottery was drawn from those remaining applicants. This time the number has been increased to 40 thousand. In this, 36 thousand passengers will be made to travel by train, while 4 thousand passengers will be made to travel by airplane.
Maximum of 3,864 passengers will go from Jaipur. Of these, 386 passengers will leave by air and 3478 by rail. In the second place, a total of 2150 passengers will be made to travel from Jodhpur. At the same time, the least number of passengers will be only 384 from Jaisalmer. Pashupatinath Temple located in Nepal will be taken for darshan during the flight.
This time some new places have also been added to the circuit of the new pilgrimage site. Rail journeys include Rameshwaram-Madurai, Jagannathpuri-Tirupati, Dwarkapuri-Somnath, Vaishnodevi-Amritsar, Prayagraj-Varanasi, Mathura-Vrindavan-Barsana, Sammedshikhar-Pawapuri-Baidyanath, Ujjain-Omkareshwar-Triambakeshwar Nashik, Gangasagar-Kolkata, Kamakhya-Guwahati, Other pilgrimages including Haridwar-Rishikesh-Ayodhya, Bihar Sharif, Velankani Church Tamil Nadu are included. This year, apart from Ayodhya, Sammed Shikhar, Vaidyanath Jyotirling Jharkhand, and Trimbakeshwar Jyotirling Maharashtra have been added.
