Rajasthan Gears Up for Khelo India University Games 2025; Logo and Mascot ‘Khamma-Ghani’ Launched
Jaipur: The Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2025 logo, mascot, anthem, torch, and jersey were unveiled at the historic Amer Fort in Jaipur on Wednesday evening. Rajasthan Sports Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, presiding over the event, said that this launch will give new wings to the dreams of the youth.
The logo, mascot, anthem, torch, and jersey of Khelo India University Games-2025 were unveiled in a grand ceremony at Jaleb Chowk in the historic Amer Fort in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, on Wednesday evening. Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, the Sports Minister of Rajasthan, presided over the ceremony.
Several dignitaries, including Dr. Neeraj K. Pawan, Secretary of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mayank Shrivastava, Deputy Director General of the Sports Authority of India, Neetu Barupal, Joint Secretary of the Government, and Arjuna Awardee Rajat Chauhan, were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Colonel Rathore said, "This evening is not just about launches, but about launching pads, from where the dreams of the youth will take flight." He further stated that the year 2025 is going to be a year of many achievements for India, and it is a proud moment for Rajasthan to host the Khelo India University Games.
He explained that the event will be held in seven cities of Rajasthan: Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Ajmer, Bharatpur, and Bikaner. Approximately 7,000 athletes from 200 universities across the country will participate in 24 sports disciplines. The Khelo India Games mascots, "Khamma" and "Ghani," were also unveiled at the event. These mascots are inspired by the state animal, the camel, and the traditional greeting "Khamma Ghani," symbolizing Rajasthan's warmth, tradition, and hospitality.
