PV Sindhu in final of Spain Masters: beats Min of Singapore

Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu defeated Yeo Jia Min of Singapore to reach the women's singles final of the Spain Masters. Sindhu defeated Min 24-22, 22-20 in a match that lasted 48 minutes on Saturday. There was an equal fight between the two, but in the end, the Indian player won.
Sindhu, who recently lost her place in the top 10 in the Badminton rankings, performed well in the semi-finals. Without giving any chance to her opponent, Sindhu ended the match in two consecutive games.
Before this match, Sindhu was considered to have the upper hand. Before this match, Sindhu and Yeo Jia Min had faced each other thrice, with Sindhu winning all three times. The last time the two players met was in the semi-finals of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where Sindhu won 21-19, 21-17. Now the record of both the players has become 4-0.
This is the first time Sindhu to reach the final of any tournament this year. Second seed Sindhu struggled to find her rhythm after returning from a long injury lay-off and was unable to cross the second-round hurdle in the last few tournaments this year. Earlier this year, Sindhu was out of the first round of the tournament for the third time in a row. She had exited in the first round of the England Open, Malaysia Open and India Open played in January this year.
