PSL 2025: This Bangladesh spinner rejoins Lahore Qalandars after playing T20 series against UAE
PSL 2025: Rishad has played five matches for the Qalandars, taking nine wickets at an average of 16.44.

Bangladesh spinner Rishad Hussain has rejoined the Lahore Qalandars squad for Thursday's eliminators match against Karachi Kings in the PSL in Lahore after participating in the third and last T20 match of the series between Bangladesh and UAE in Sharjah on Wednesday. Rishad featured in two of the series matches in which the UAE won the series 2-1 in Sharjah.
He was part of a number of foreign players who left Pakistan temporarily when the PSL season was halted on account of border tensions in the early part of this month. Rishad's return has seen the Qalandars now possessing a set of Bangladesh spinners comprising Shakib Al Hasan (played a single match) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Rishad played five games for the Qalandars this year and has so far taken nine wickets at a mean of 16.44. He did not perform well in the UAE series when he claimed only three wickets.
The Qalandars now face some difficult selection decisions, especially in their bowling unit, which has a variety of options. Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf will lead the pace attack, but who to pick among the three spinners remains to be seen.
Rishad will be available for the remaining matches of the Qalandars' PSL campaign, as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has extended his No Objection Certificate (NOC) from May 22 to May 25. Bangladesh will begin their T20I series against Pakistan in Lahore on May 28, while the PSL final will be held on May 25.
On Wednesday, Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana and two key members of the coaching staff pulled out of the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan, citing security concerns, days before the team's scheduled departure.
The BCB has confirmed that fielding coach James Pamment and strength and conditioning coach Nathan Keely will not travel with the team as they prepare for the three-match series scheduled to be played in Lahore on May 28, 30 and 31.
