Niger army targeted near Burkina Faso border, 17 soldiers killed

An ambush in the southwest region bordering Burkina Faso killed 17 Niger army soldiers on Tuesday. Niger's Ministry of Defense claimed this.
Niger has seen a decline in attacks after 2021, but security remains a major problem in the southwest near the border with neighboring Mali.
The Defense Ministry said in a statement that a unit of the Niger Army was ambushed near the commune of Torodi. During this, more than 100 terrorists were killed.
