The state government is making a new hill policy to save mountains in Rajasthan. Under this, no construction work will be allowed on mountains with a slope of more than 15 degrees in the state. This policy will be applicable in other areas of the state except Mount Abu, the only hill tourist destination of the state. Construction work will not be allowed on mountains higher than 15 degrees.
The Rajasthan government is framing a new hill policy to save mountains. Under this, no construction work will be allowed on mountains with a slope of more than 15 degrees in the state. ISRO's Cartosat data formula will be adopted to measure the height of the mountain.
Cartosat Data is an Indian remote-sensing satellite that provides in-orbit stereo images. It would not apply in other areas of the state except Mount Abu, which is the only hill tourist destination in the state. As per the draft of the policy, the government would give approval for the establishment of farmhouses, resorts, and other units of tourism in hill slope areas having eight degrees as well as eight to 15 degrees slope but construction works in higher than 15 degrees slopped hill areas were not possible.
The government believes that this policy will be effective in preserving the hills and forest areas of the Aravalli region. According to Vaibhav Galaria, Principal Secretary of the Department of Autonomous Governance, the department received suggestions from the people till December 20.
