MHA: Guidelines of Enemy Property Disposal Order will be amended, Home Ministry issued notification
MHA: The Central Government has issued an order to amend the guidelines of the Enemy Property Disposal Order, 2018. The amended guidelines will now be known as the Enemy Property Disposal (Amendment) Order, 20124.
Central Government hereby orders that the guidelines of the said Enemy Property Disposal Order, 2018, shall be amended, and upon such amendment, the same shall be called the Enemy Property Disposal Amendment Order, 20124.
Therefore, the Home Ministry notification states, "In the guidelines of the Enemy Property Disposal Order, 2018, in sub-paragraph (2) of paragraph nine, clause (a) the following clause shall be substituted, i.e. (a) For properties that are less than one crore in rural areas and less than five crores rupees in urban areas, the custodian shall make an offer to purchase the first holder. In case the holder declines the offer, the enemy property shall be disposed of in accordance with the procedure laid down in sub-sections (b), (c), and (d).
This amendment has been made to introduce clarity and transparency in the disposal of property. Once the notification comes from the Home Ministry, all the details will be provided to the concerned officials so that they may pursue the process accordingly.
