10,000 electric buses will run on the roads in the next five months, PM e-bus service will start in 100 cities
The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs said that the PM-eBus Service Scheme under which 10000 electric buses will be provided to 169 cities under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. This scheme will be launched in the next five-six months. The estimated cost of this scheme will be Rs 57613 crore, out of which Rs 20000 crore will be given by the Central Government and the remaining amount will be borne by the state.
Under the 'PM-eBus Seva' scheme, 10,000 electric buses will be provided to 169 cities. This scheme, which will be started under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, will be started in the next five-six months. The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs gave this information on Thursday.
In a press conference, Union Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that soon the Central Government is going to buy air-conditioned buses for this. Housing and Urban Affairs Secretary, Manoj Joshi, said the scheme will be launched in 169 cities and states will have to submit their proposals by September 30.
