Mayor's statement on municipal dispute: said- more than three thousand proposals of 150 councilors came, it is not possible to include all
Mayor Saumya Gurjar's statement has come from the controversy that arose before the general meeting in Jaipur Municipal Corporation Greater. On the allegations of not including proposals of public interest and ignoring the corporators, Soumya said – there are 150 corporators in the Municipal Corporation. More than 3 thousand suggestions and proposals have come from him. Most of them are similar. In such a situation, it is not possible to include everyone on the agenda.
The general meeting is to be held on May 25 in the Greater Municipal Corporation. Several BJP councilors and an MLA have raised objections regarding his agenda. The chairman of the finance committee accused Mayor Saumya Gurjar of arbitrariness and ignoring the councilors, stating that the proposals kept in the meeting were legally wrong. Here, Deputy Mayor Puneet Karnavat has also written a letter to the Mayor alleging that the proposals were not included in the agenda as per the intention of the councilors. MLA Ashok Lahoti has also written a letter to the mayor to include proposals related to road, water, and electricity in the agenda of the general meeting.
He said- Today in Jaipur, the condition of community centers run by Jaipur Municipal Corporation is so bad that no one even likes to come there. We have prepared a proposal for the renovation of all those community centers. So that their condition improves and people come there to perform marriage ceremonies, birthdays, or other events. Is this not a proposal related to the public interest? We are preparing to open a sports academy for the purpose of playing and training the children of the city.
In this, the children of the city will not only get a place to play but will also be given good training. Today, when the public comes to the municipal corporation headquarters for their work, they face the problem of parking. We are preparing to make double basement parking, which will be useful for the public only.
We have also brought a proposal to impose green bonds in the general body of the Municipal Corporation. If it is passed and implemented, then Jaipur Municipal Corporation will be the first Municipal Corporation of the Greater Country to bring Green Bonds. We will also give very good returns to the people from this bond. The way people trust LIC, in the same way, people will trust Municipal Corporations towards investment. This is also an issue related to the public interest.
