Telangana tunnel accident: Six workers are feared trapped after a part of the roof of an under-construction tunnel collapsed in Nagarkurnool. The team of the construction company has gone inside for assessment and has confirmed that the workers are trapped. A senior police officer told PTI that according to the information given by the company engaged in the work, six to eight workers are feared trapped.

A major accident occurred because a tunnel segment collapsed in Telangana. The roof over a segment of the tunnel of the state's Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) in the state's Nagarkurnool district collapsed, and six to eight workers are feared trapped.

Police said that the team of the construction company had gone inside the tunnel for assessment and confirmed that the workers were trapped. A senior police officer told PTI that according to the information given by the company engaged in the work, six to eight workers are feared trapped.

The official said, "The incident happened when some workers had gone inside for work when the roof collapsed 12-13 km inside the tunnel."

However, a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office indicated that some people were injured without giving the number. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed the District Collector, Superintendent of Police, and other officials to reach the spot for relief work.
